From the giant squid found near Antarctica, to the most awesome fish inside a jelly fish ! These are 10 RARE Deep Sea Catches ! Basket Star -- Was it an alien life form? Nothing so exotic. But a fisherman in Singapore reeled in a catch that caught worldwide attention. The weird, writing octopus-like creature was actually a basket star … a distant relative of the starfish. The fisherman said he thought he had reeled in a bunch of seaweed since it’s so prevalent in the area. Although it looks like the creature has hundred of arms wriggling about, it only has five arms, which are each divided into more dexterous ‘branchlets’. This really was a rare deep sea catch since Basket Stars live so deep under the sea … some 6,000 feet or so … and feed mostly on zooplankton. A Controversial Catch -- A Tiger shark measuring nearly 20 feet long was caught off the Australian coast in 2015. Tiger sharks normally grow to lengths between 10 to 14 feet, and are found worldwide in tropical and temperate waters. The apex predators are known to hunt a variety of animals including sea snakes, turtles, dolphins and whales. When photos of the enormous carcass lying on a fishing boat were posted on Facebook, it prompted a social media backlash. Critics compared the display to Cecil the Lion, who was controversially killed by an American big game hunter. What do you think? Ghost Octopus -- A remotely operated submarine called Deep Discover made an amazing discovery when it caught this creature on video: A mysterious, ghostlike octopus sitting on a rock … at a depth of nearly 4,300 meters … or over 14, 000 feet below the surface! The unusual octopus was found during a deep-sea dive in the Hawaiian Archipelago. Researchers said its ghostly appearance is due to the animal’s lack of pigment cell called chromatophores, which most cephalopods possess. While the newly discovered creature is thought to be previously undescribed, researchers have classified it as an incirrate octopod ... meaning it lacks fins and cirri, which are wispy strands found on the arms of some octopuses. Cirrate octopods have fins, and are sometimes called Dumbo octopods … a reference to their resemblance to the Disney cartoon elephant. This small ghost octopus is the first incirrate octopod observed at such an extreme depth. A lot of people think this creature should be named ‘Casper’ … can you think of a better name? Here’s the Catch -- This is kind of like a rare deep sea double catch … A fish is caught inside a jellyfish … and the incident is caught on film! You can see in Tim Samuel’s photograph that the fish seems to realize it’s made a horrible mistake … if it’s any consolation to the fish, the picture will no doubt provide fodder for plenty of internet memes. The incident took place off the coast of Australia's Byron Bay earlier in 2016. The species of the fish and jellyfish are difficult to identify from the picture. But some experts think the jellyfish is a type of stinging jellyfish known as a cubomedusan (koo-boe-med-ooh-san) … and the fish might be a juvenile trevally (treh-valley). Because that fish species is known to evade predators by camouflaging itself among the stingers of certain jellyfish species, it likely intended to get close to the jellyfish … but not actually inside it! Did the jellyfish end up eating the fish … or did the two creatures strike up an unlikely alliance and go on to have some amazing aquatic adventures? As it was decided to let nature run its course … we may never know. Can you think of a happy ending? Gigantic Giant Squid -- A squid the size of a minibus was captured in the area of Antarctica’s isolated Ross Sea. Researchers kept it on ice for some 8 months before thawing it out to discover it’s wasn't just another giant squid … it was a gigantic squid, weighing 770 pounds! Scientists identified the enormous creature’s gender as female, with 8 arms measuring over three feet each, and dual tentacles reaching 7 feet. One of the scientists speculated that animals such as this may have inspired legends like the Kraken, who often battled other huge sea creatures, like whales. Analyzing the huge squid is part of a research project that scientists hope will yield more information about where giant squids figure in the overall marine-based food chain … In addition to identify various squid types and find out more about their dietary patterns and life-cycle. W/S Ship in the Gulf of Finland SCRIPT Russia: Deep sea no match for adventurous Putin Russian President Vladimir Putin descended to the bottom of the sea on Monday in his latest adventure, taking a half-hour journey into the depths of the Gulf of Finland to view the wreck of a Russian battleship. Putin rode a small submersible 60 metres down to see the remains of the naval frigate Oleg, which sank in 1869. The Oleg's remains, currently being examined by marine archaeologists, lie off the island of Gogland 180 kilometres west of St. Petersburg, Russia's second-largest city. President Putin has developed something of a reputation for adventurous behaviour. Past escapades have included flying a fighter jet, saving the lives of a film crew by shooting an oncoming Siberian tiger with a tranquilliser rifle, examining live polar bears, a scuba dive in which he discovered ancient Greek pottery shards and a trip to the bottom of Lake Baikal, the world's deepest lake.

Eight crew members who escaped on a life raft were rescued, but one, a Korean national, later died from hypothermia. The rest of the crew are believed to have been wearing life jackets. South Korean Prime Minister Chung Hong-won said Seoul would ask Russia to speed up search and rescue operations An official from Sajo, the Korean fishing conglomerate that operated the Oryong 501, said waves in the area were as high as 4 metres (13 feet) high with temperature below negative 10 degrees Celsius (14 degrees Fahrenheit). The vessel departed from Busan on July 10 for Bering Sea to fish for pollock, a popular winter food in South Korean. ------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to TomoNews, where we animate the most entertaining news on the internets. NOW, RUSSIA BUILDS A SUBMARINE EVEN BIGGER THAN THE TYPHOON The Northern Fleet's new "Belgorod" research sub for Arctic waters will be world’s largest. To be put on water in Severodvinsk next year. Russia’s new military research submarine for Arctic waters will be 11 meters longer than the giant Cold War Typhoon class. The hull is based on an incomplete Oscar-II submarine originally laid down at the Sevmash yard in Severodvinsk back in 1992. Oscar-II class is similar to the «Kursk» submarine that sank in the Barents Sea in August 2000. Belgorod will be equipped to carry special deep-sea diving equipment, including another submarine, and can be used both for military and civilian purposes on the Arctic shelf. Originally, the hull of an Oscar-II class sub is much wider than most submarines since the cruise missiles are attached alongside. With the missiles removed, it is believed that larger objects for underwater operations can be carried. Now, sources in the Navy confirms to Izvestia that the submarine has been embedded in size with almost 30 meters. The extra length is added to include special equipment including pressure chambers for divers to exit the vessel at deep sea. Also, unmanned autonomous vehicles, or subsea drones, can be carried. The submarine’s hull is extended from the 154 meter normal length of an Oscar-II class to 184 meters. That is 11 meters longer than the Typhoon submarines built in the 1980s for the Soviet navy. Complete series: https://rtd.rt.com/films/the-baltic-fleet/ Step on board a corvette warship and take a deep sea submarine dive with Russia's famous Baltic Fleet. These two Russian Navy vessels are facing off against each other in a tense competition to win in a military exercise. Pick your side! Russian Navy fleet corvette Soobrazitelny gets a new commander, captain lieutenant Aleksandr Slonov. Immediately, there are tensions between him and one of the ship’s junior lieutenants, Leonid Karakash. However, Slonov is determined to make Karakash change his ways. Meanwhile, the rest of the corvette’s crew begins preparation for a military exercise. They are to compete against the Magnitogorsk submarine under the command of Vladimir Nagornov and his crew. They only have 20 days to properly prepare. But first, the corvette’s new sailors must be initiated. Russia’s Baltic Fleet was formed in 1703 under Peter the Great and is the oldest formation in the Russian Navy. Throughout its history, it has fought in many military conflicts, defending its country’s borders and perfecting its battle techniques. Today it boasts the most modern vessels, formidable weaponry and experienced seamen the Russian Navy has to offer. Meet the crews of two of its vessels, the corvette Soobrazitelny and the submarine Magnitogorsk, to learn more about life in the Baltic Fleet. Joining the crew of Magnitogorsk, commanded by Captain Vladimir Nagornov, you'll find out about the procedures required for diving and surfacing, as well as certain superstitions shared by those on board. You'll also learn about the jobs required to keep the boat operational, how a submarine locates its targets covertly and discover more about the torpedoes it carries. Aleksandr Slonov, Commander of Soobrazitelny, and his crew will take you along to a military parade, give you a guided tour of the ship and explain how the corvette's missiles are launched. With marines joining its ranks, you'll get the opportunity to accompany them to an armoured vehicle test track, where you can pick up some tips about how to handle these impressively versatile vehicles. In the end, the two crews will engage in a competition to determine which of them is the best-prepared and most skilled in military combat. Pick your side and may the best team win. 5 Strange Creatures Caught on Tape & Spotted In Real Life! Description: Do you feel embarrassed watching clips of supposedly unidentified creatures, wondering if they’re the real thing when most zoologists would dismiss the footage as fake? Consider that in the late 19th century, scientists in England thought meteorites were a hoax and laughed at farmers who presented them with evidence. Of course, the commoners were right. Of the thousands of clips of monsters on the internet, could some be the genuine article? Here are 5 of the scariest and hardest to identify creatures captured on video. Let’s begin! #5 – Terror on the Thames The Thames River has often been the site of mysterious ghost sightings, strange monstrous fish and even haunted album covers! But this clip, reported on by the Inquisitr in April, might be the spookiest sighting of all.Taken from a cable car, the video captures a creature with 2 large humps swimming in the main channel. Though the camera is shaky and turns away after a moment, it is clear that the creature is too large to be a dolphin or a porpoise. Commenters immediately accused the eye-witness, known on YouTube as Penn Plate, of orchestrating a hoax. http://www.inquisitr.com/2971634/mysterious-creature-caught-on-video-in-london-river/ https://classicrockfridays.wordpress.com/tag/black-sabbath/ (3rd image down) #4 – Nessie’s Kinfolk Part of what makes the Loch Ness Monster such a harmless and fun topic of debate is that unless you live in the Scottish countryside close to the Loch itself, it can’t possibly hurt you. But what if similar creatures are lying hidden elsewhere in our oceans and lakes? This clip shot in Alaska in 2016 shows an elongated sea creature swimming and twisting in the current, and has reminded many animal experts of the shape and behavior of Nessie. Do cousins of Nessie inhabit waters off of more than one continent? Recently, a rediscovered German U-Boat of which the Captain claimed was attacked and sunk by a long fierce sea creature in World War 1 was examined in England, and showed signs of perhaps being damaged by the attack. https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/2073386/mysterious-sea-monster-caught-on-camera-wading-through-the-alaskas-icy-chena-river/ #3 – Fast as a Blur Comedian Mitch Hedberg once joked that Bigfoot must be blurry, and it’s not the photographer’s fault that the image is always out of focus. Animal Planet’s investigative series Finding Bigfoot has not turned up any 100% provable evidence of the legendary furry, or blurry monster. But it has unearthed video evidence of many unidentified and spooky looking wildlife. This clip, taken by a housewife in Connecticut of her 2 sons biking, shows a quick, spidery yet 2-footed creature running after them. http://www.animalplanet.com/tv-shows/finding-bigfoot/videos/a-speedy-creature-caught-on-camera/ #2 – Spider Man Isn’t So Handsome Up Close UFO investigations have often contributed to other sciences, for instance during the Cold War the United States Air Force worked closely with civilian radar and UFO experts to improve their accuracy in distinguishing enemy planes and satellites from other objects. In 2014, the website True UFO Sightings released a stunning clip of what appears to be a giant human-sized walking stick. Shot in Russia, the video clearly captures a spidery creature climbing down and around the edge of an apartment building. Little else is known about the footage, but unless Peter Parker has been on a vegan diet, let’s just say this Spider Man is a lot more terrifying than sexy. http://www.trueufosightings.com/alien-monster-caught-on-camera-in-russia-260.html #1 – Now That’s Some Creepy Pasta In this era of fake news sites, you may roll your eyes and some of the exaggerated headlines from tabloid journalists about monsters in the deep. But no less an authority than CNN is responsible for reporting on this spooky footage.Filming almost 5000 feet below the ocean’s surface near an underwater oil rig in Angola, scientists captured an unidentified, chillingly tendrilous creature in 2015 nicknamed the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Experts think the strange aquatic monster may be related to species like the jellyfish, but the tremendous size and bizarre motion of the organism remains a mystery to be solved. http://www.cnn.com/videos/world/2015/08/10/flying-spaghetti-monster-underwater-video-orig.cnn-serpent-project Background Music: Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 License: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/ For copyright matters please contact us: OfficialAmerikano@hotmail.com _________________________________________________________________ Thank you so much for watching! From the hairy creature that washed up on the shores of Russia to a scary unidentified animal deep in the Amazon jungle, here are 10 of the most bizarre unidentified creatures. # 5 Zuiyo-Maru Carcass In April of 1977, a Japanese trawler was sailing around New Zealand when their net got tangled in a huge mass. They run their nets at around 980 feet below the surface of the water when something heavy caught itself in the net. They ended up pulling out a 3,960 pound, foul smelling, rotting carcass up from the ocean. The carcass was around 32 feet long and had what looked like a 5 foot neck. The crew of the Zuiyo-Maru thought they had uncovered a new monster like the Loch ness monster. They gave it the nickname “New Nessie” because of this. After the picture spread across Japan, the nation became obsessed with it and the common theory arose that it was the remains of a Plesiosaur. However, this theory was soon debunked and the fishing company who caught it released a statement saying that it was the decomposed carcass of a Basking Shark which can grow to over 30 feet in length. Despite this, many people stick steadfast to the Plesiosaur theory. # 4 Tully Monster Since its discovery in 1958, this creature’s fossilized skeletons have baffled the science community. It was so alien and monstrous looking it earned the scientific name Tullimonstrum - named after the scientist who discovered it, Tully, and monstrum - which means monster and strange. The Tully monster was a strange fish that lived 300 million years ago and has a completely unique form. It had a long claw like appendage at the front of its body and eyes similar to a mollusk. It wasn’t until 2016 when this creature was officially classified as a fish by a Yale-led paleontology team because of how strange its fossils look. # 3 Unknown Creature Found in Amazon This image originates from a Youtube video posted on March 2015, without any caption. The only information available is the title “Unknown Creature Found in Amazon”. The lack of information and details on this image brings its authenticity into question. There is also obvious editing of the foliage around the subject, and the arms and feed look like theyh have been manipulated in an editing program. It is likely originally a cell phone photo of a dead monkey carcass found by someone walking through the area that was manipulated to look more dramatic and strange. # 2 Panama Creature In September 2009, a photograph of a creature’s corpse was found near a Panama Coast. The story goes that a bunch of teenagers spotted the creature crawling out of a cave when and were being attacked by it before they beat it with a stick and then took a picture of evidence of the strange creature. The alien appearance of this corpse earned it the nicknames “Panama Creature” and “Panama ET”. However the carcass was taken in by local zoology experts and an autopsy was performed on it. The procedure revealed that it was in fact not an alien but a sloth. The sloth was mostly decomposed by the water and had reached the bloating stage of rotting which gave it a very strange and scary appearance. # 1 Hairy Dolphin In 2015, a strange creature washed up on the coast of Russia. It looked like a weird hybrid between a Jim Hansen puppet and a sea creature. What it really looked like was a furry dolphin, which is something that shouldn’t exist. The carcass was also described as “twice as large as a human” putting it at around 10-12 feet in length. It was speculated to be either an Indian or Ganges dolphin which aren’t local to Russian waters. The main accepted theory now is that the dolphin was brought to the coast by a warm current, before the water got too cold for it and it died. The “fur” found on the carcass is likely a kind of algae that attached to the body and resembles tufts of hair. From an unbelievable monster squid, to the massive Blue Whale … Here are 10 of the World’s Biggest Sea Creatures! Lion’s Mane Jellyfish This is considered the largest species of jellyfish on the planet. The largest recorded specimen had a bell that measured more than 7.5 feet … and tentacles over 120 feet long. They use their stinging tentacles to capture and eat prey like fish and smaller jellyfish. They come in a variety of colors, and tend to favor cold water environments from the Arctic to the Northern Pacific Oceans. Both of those qualities were captured on film by Alexander Semenov … a marine biologist who took a series of stunning photographs featuring the massive jelly. He had occasion to take the pictures while diving in the remote waters of the White Sea Biological Station on the coast of western Russia. Diving in waters of minus-2 degrees Celsius, the environment is clear enough to see 40 meters underwater. That yielded these images that give the creature an alien look, as it's thin tentacles billow about, searching for prey. Did you know that larger specimens of these jellyfish are usually purple … while smaller, younger jellies are often lighter orange or tan. Monster Squids Giant squids are deep ocean creatures that are said to grow up to 43 feet long … that’s second only to the length of the Colossal Squid, estimated at some 46 feet and can weigh more than 1,600 pounds. They’re two of the largest living organisms in the world, and are often thought to be the real-life basis of the mythical Kraken. In 2015, Russian fishermen encountered a gigantic squid that tried to feast on a fish they were hauling to their vessel. You can see images of the squid captured from video. The men prodded the creature with poles and seemed to drive it away, but it kept grabbing at the fish with its beak. After battling back and forth with the immense creature, it finally gave up and swam away. But in all the confusion, it was never established whether the cephalopod was a giant squid or a colossal squid. We found this photo, but not a whole lot of information to go with it. It’s said to be a huge creature -- obviously -- that was caught in Cambodia. We haven’t been able to identify the location, but it does appear that the animal is surrounded by net fishermen … Although it seems those folks would need more than a net to capture a beast that size! We tend to think this picture may have been manipulated. For one thing, the creature seems to be laying on the bottom of what appears to be a rather shallow pond … so how would it be able to swim to that location? We’re not 100% convinced on this one … What do you think? Blue Whale This is an easy choice for the second spot … the Blue whale is the largest animal known to have ever existed! Because of their massive size, the animals are difficult to weigh … but the heaviest estimated weight recorded was around 191 tons, although experts feel the creatures could easily weigh 200 tons or more. The greatest recorded length for a blue whale was around 104ft. These animals have a diet made up mostly of krill … and they can put away some 40 million krill -- or the near equivalent of 8,000 lbs -- each day. Did you know Blue Whales belong to the same family as Humpback Whales? What sea creature could possibly be bigger than the blue whale? Well, the answer could be … the sea itself! That’s according to a study conducted by the University of Illinois. It suggests that the sea became a type of global ‘mega-organism’ that covered the Earth some 3 billion years before giving rise to the progenitors of all living creatures today. Scientists refer to this massive organism as LUCA (L-U-C-A) … it’s an acronym for ‘Last Universal Common Ancestor’. And the study indicates that LUCA is traceable to every domain of life … including animals, plants and fungi (fun-jie). Experts say it was this mega-organism that filled the Earth’s oceans, and became a type of global genetic exchange for cells that struggled to survive on their own. Those cells freely swapped their genes and proteins with one another for hundreds of millions of years, giving rise to a massive single organism … which eventually split into the domains of bacteria, eukaryotes (you-kare-ee-oats), and archaea (ar-kee-uh). As cells evolved ways of providing for their own existence, LUCA was broken apart … giving rise to the birth of all things living today!
